NASDE
The NASDE team was doing an extensive database restructuring behind the scenes. They thought it was time to update the website technology at the same time, and asked Viva Design Studio to convert their site to Wordpress without dramatically changing the overall look and UX. They felt it was important that accessing tour data be the focus of the site. We agreed and kept the site true to the original while upgrading the technology.
Freedom Swing
Co-Event Directors Rob Baen & Sheila Purkey were in a spot when they lost access to their hosting accounts and eventually their event websites. Following the same process we used to recreate and improve phillyswing.com, we created a new website for Freedom Swing. In 2022, we took on the additional role of Social Media manager, creating video reels and still media for both FB and Instagram.
Philly Swing
Co-Event Directors Rob Baen & Sheila Purkey were in a spot when they lost access to their hosting accounts and eventually their event websites. We were able to retrieve most of the important content from the internet archives, and gave the entire Philly Swing website a significant design update, based on the framework we set up on libertyswing.com. In 2022, we took on the additional role of Social Media manager, creating video reels and still media for both FB and Instagram.
Professional Swing DJs
Josh Angel wanted a website that paid homage to its predecessor while looking to the future. Together we created an archive of the best West Coast Swing music submitted and compiled each month from the top WCS DJs from around the world.
Phoenix 4th of July
The team at P4J gave DIY their best shot, but when they realized they were in over their head, they started looking at event sites for a lead on a designer. They found Viva Design Studio’s link at the bottom of their favorite sites, so they contacted us. We did our thing, and the P4J ladies were delighted with the results.
Kristen Shaw
Kristen came to us to upgrade her self-designed Wix site into a three-pronged professional resume: Corporate Editor/Producer; Dancer (Competitor, Instructor, and Event Director); and Creator of all kinds of amazing stuff across a variety of platforms. Challenge accepted! Kristen was thrilled with the results.
Trilogy Swing
Trilogy Swing was about to announce its return to dancing after the pandemic break when Rick Dauss found himself with a neglected website in need of an overhaul. Viva saw Rick’s FB plea for help, and stepped up to help. A complete redesign with improved navigation and flow helped Rick bring Trilogy back in 2022 — bigger and better than ever.
Countdown Swing Boston
In January 2022, Kristen Shaw took over the reigns as Event Director of CSB, an exciting New Year’s Eve event boasting WSDC comps, conga lines, and a sit down dinner before the countdown at midnight! She wanted a rebranded website with fun and energy in line with her vision for the future of the event! With beautiful new branded artwork from Nicole Zwerlein, we built a website that said, “Let’s Party!”
The Open Swing Dance Championships
In 2021, our friend John Lindo took over the top spot at The Open Swing Dance Championships, as Chairman and Event Director. Once again, John came to Viva Design Studio to manage the website and social media for this long-running and prestigious event. The pandemic allowed us a full year to rebrand, reorganize the content and navigation, polish the layout and design. When we were ready to launch, the site was completely updated with fresh content for the 2022 event. Viva then promoted the event on Facebook for 4 months leading up to the event. The Open Swing Dance Championships 2022 proved to be a tremendous success!
Liberty Swing Dance Championships
Pleased with the design we created for his personal brand, John Lindo approached us again to redesign his popular swing event, Liberty Swing.
His only request, to make it clear and easy to navigate–and promote ticket sales.
We went with a streamlined navigation bar, featuring a can’t-miss button-styled Register link plus pages that pared down the clutter and highlighted what Liberty is all about – a dance event that pulls out all the stops to ensure a good time!
